The Kandiyohi County Historical Society, in conjunction with Kandiyohi County is building a temporary information kiosk at the original capital hill town site, located between Lake Minnetaga and Lake Kasota. The Capital Hill Kiosk would consist of an enlarged plat map of the Kandiyohi town site and facts on the history of why this spot was chosen for the Capital of Minnesota and why, in the end, the Minnesota State Capital remained in St. Paul. The kiosk would be available for visiting from May 2008-September 2008 at Capital Hill, after which time it would be moved to the Kandiyohi County Historical Society for exhibit in the museum.
